6 dead.

5 shootings at schools and universities in the US in the last week, and yet there STILL hasn't been a gun ban?

Besides being unconstitutional, a gun ban is not a magic pill that will cure all our gun related problems.

No, but it IS something.

Anyway, my sympathies to all the students and staff of NIU affected by this horrid event.

I'd ban the production of more guns, except those to be used by police and the military, with maybe a couple of other exceptions as needed. Then, ban the importation; and then, institute a buyback.

There would still be guns, and it is a long term policy, but at the least there would not be an increase in gun ownership-which eventually would be illegalised too.

anyway, no more politics in here.

Guns are a cultural issue in America, much like apple pie. You can't ban a part of the culture. Smiley

Slavery was a social, cultural, economic fact of life, and last I checked it was illegal.
