hmmn...all the hardcore leftists'll vote Blair; all the right wingers will vote clark, and apparently some of the others (why, Emmie? Tongue) So If I choose Halonen will it get enough support...probably not. Sampaio, however?

I vote for Sampaio.

Helen Clark

Her only accomplishments, according to wiki, seem to be her getting elected to various public offices over the years. What wonderful things has she done that cause her to be so popular in this thread?

Hey, she managaed to make NZ the host of the Lord of the Rings, and got the Auckland TImes to change to the Orcland Times Smiley

I really just want her to stay cos she's like a state premier, really; but I also don't want Blair to go. If Blair doesn't go this time, and Clark does, i'm fairly sure Blair'll win the whole thing.

Those of us who are sane, rally around:

Kirchner

Whilst Yuschenko was better then the alternatives, that dopesnt actually make him good. Kirchner is well on the way to digging Argentina out of a massive hole, after years of dictatorship, and then, quite frankly, lousy government.

wow, I can't believe we're dpown to the final two. I know a couple of people predicted Singh, but who'd've thought Lagos would be here? KIIC has had mixed success, but success none the less. Plus I actualy like Lagos Smiley

Earl, before the final vote, you should post a biography of the remaining candidates.

I should just say, these are two of the best leaders in the world. We, as a forum, have done a damn fine job getting them here. If I wanted to pick a leader of the world or something, these two would be right up near the top of my list.

actuallt, Singh was elected as Prime Minister, Earl. Do you need a crash course into how parliamentary democracies work? Wink

I'm happy Singh won.

Can you guys believe it's over? Tongue

Kangaroos.

We are not a colony, we are an independent Commonwealth. Unlike America, however, we prefferred to vote towards independence, and give the people a choice, rather then shooting each other. We have only two legal ties to Britain in any way; 1. The Queen is our common Head of State, but she is Queen of Australia, not Queen of England and possessions, in her role as our Queen, and 2. The Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia Act, 1900, UK; basically the original constitution was an act of British parliament, but they can't amend it or anything like that.

I tend to agree, Lewis. Blair is better then average for a world leader, but I actually respect Lagos, and I don't mind Singh, who never ereally expected to be PM.
