You're not a hipster just because you use Instagram. Way more factors are involved, including:
- Physical location (Echo Oark, Williamsburg, etc.)
- Percentage of activities done ironically
- Fondness for alcohol, especially Pabst Blue Ribbon or intricate, long-forgotten cocktails
- Amount of weed smoked, coke snorted, and MDMA popped
- Outer appearance (either vintage stores or Nordstrom-level or better attire)
This is why Americans can never be proper hipster.
It's all about recycled clothing, popular non-popular music, and fair trade organic coffee.
