So I just read something that seems crazy....Women didn't gain the right to vote in Switzerland until 1971? 

That's nuts, so there's actually plenty of people alive today that witnessed male-only elections in Switzerland?

In federal elections. Cantons passed in various dates, between 1959 (Vaud) and 1990 (Appenzell Innerrhoden, forced by courts).
