Gentlemen (and ladies?), I regret to inform you that I may be away from my duties as Lt. Governor shortly as the forces of the IDS Militia have been mobilized by Emperor SJoyce in response to the chaos in what was formerly the Pacific Region. I have been assigned to serve in Odessa, Texas as per my orders. For Dave and Country, I bid you farewell, for now. Dave-willing I shall return as soon as possible. I nevertheless have a duty that needs to be fulfilled.

You mean we have a Lt Gov who chooses to serve in some other region's militia instead of ours?!

Did you count Miles' vote?

Edit: oh. I guess you did, you just don't have him listed at the beginning.  Why was cheesepizza's vote invalid?

I think we can afford this at this juncture and I also believe that this is a smart investment. Thus, I sign the "Mideast Transit Reform Act"

Thank you Governor!

I have to say I'm not a fan of the election booth randomly not being open for Sunday.

I have to say I'm not a fan of the election booth randomly not being open for Sunday.

I don't think there is anything "random" about the voting period of this election.

In fact, this has been the third election in a row with almost exactly the same voting period. Also, the Mideast Constitution specifies that elections can start at any point between Thursday and Friday midnight. Additionally, I made clear in the voting booth that the voting period is exactly 72 hours so there was, in my opinion, ample time for every Mideasterner who was online during these three days to cast a ballot. And those who knew that they wouldn't be around this weekend had the chance to request an absentee ballot.

Finally, there are people who prefer to vote on Sundays and then there are those who aren't around at the weekend. Unfortunately, it's impossible to please everyone for these reasons.

Okay, right, not technically random. Appearing arbitrary and generally unpredictable and counter to convention then.  I don't remember a federal election anyway that wasn't open Sunday afternoon, so it can throw people off.  Of course you have the legal right to do it that way, and I suspect you have reasons having to do with the time zone issue, I'm just saying I find it irritating.

So do you have any idea on who you are going to appoint as the new assemblyman after X's resignation?
I'm not sure a person can resign from a position they never entered.
