Also, I am concerned that newbies are quite susceptible to the first clause, as they are not well read in Atlasian law and the same type of unscrupulous person who would solicit voter deletion is probably not going to warn them of any imminent legal charges.

I am also concerned with this. This is one reason why whatever the penalty - which seems too severe in any case - there should not be a mandatory minimum, so that the penalty can be lessened or waived if it was an innocent mistake. (Note there is no mandatory minimum in the bill being debated in the Mideast.)

I think it should be "up to" rather than "at least" and three months instead of six.

I think the time frame we should be focused on is the period between the close of the vote and some short period of time after the certification. If someone wants to delete their vote before the end of the election, that can be annoying for those trying to keep track of the votes, but it wouldn't call into question the integrity of the vote and so making criminal penalties for it and requiring the SoFE to be constantly screen capturing during the vote is overkill.

well that's better but we still need to fix 2 and 3 to be more reasonable. the penalty should be maybe 3 months and the SoFE should only need to make a screenshot once the voting is done.

if the SoFE makes a screenshot just once when the booth closes, wouldn't that be enough?

I propose this amendment:

Deletion Is Bad Act

1. Deleting a vote in the federal election during a period between closing the booth and swearing-in of the new officeholders is hereby illegal, and is punishable up to a half of a year year 90 day ban from voting in any Atlasian elections and/or up to 90 day one year ban from holding any office under the Republic of Atlasia.
2. Soliciting another Atlasian to delete a vote is hereby illegal as well, and is punishable up to one year 90 day ban from voting in any Atlasian elections and/or 90 day up one years ban from holding any office under the Republic of Atlasia.
3. The Secretary of Federal Elections, or a person acting on his behalf, shall be hereby required to save screenshots of the booth at the moment moment vote was closed.

All right, how about this?

Fourth Amendment to the Consolidated Criminal Justice Act

1. Clause 8 is added to Section 1 of the Consolidated Criminal Justice Act: "The deletion of a ballot within an one month period after the voting booth has closed and voting concluded or soliticing to delete a ballot within an one month period after the voting booth has closed and voting concluded".
2. Section 2, Clause 2 of the Consolidated Criminal Justice Act is amended to read "For offenses described in Clauses 4, 5, 6, and 8 of Section 1

why do you want to change it to a whole month afterwards?

All other crimes in the CCJA are things that anyone can know is inappropriate. The issue of someone making an innocent mistake seems to still be here.   As long as the SoFE makes a screenshot of the vote at the close, I don't see why this is necessary.

Punishment provided by the CCJA are separate issue and should not be tied to this amendment, with which we should finish soon.

huh?

I wasn't making a statement about the punishment. I was saying someone who didn't know it was a crime might not know there is a problem with it. For the crimes already on the books this is not the case since they are either outright lies or against TOS.
