I don't think "sneak-and-peek" warrants are inherently unconstitutional or inherently bad, but it's worth noting this was a tactic first used in the War on Drugs and then codified in the Patriot Act.  The Patriot Act itself was a grab-bag of goodies for law enforcement, passed as an emergency measure with broad support after 9/11 but with many of its provisions not limited in scope to counterterrorism.

If we can agree that "emergency" legislation can bring unintended consequences and loss of liberty, then can we agree that other bills, including economic stimuli, health care reforms, environmental restrictions, etc. should be carefully considered and drafted in a way to minimize negative consequences and promote individual liberty?

Edit:  And yeah, it looks like the statute is for "sneak-and-peek" warrants, not warrantless wiretapping.....
