RNC 2020 - Preparation

President Mike Pence had long thought that Charlotte is not the best place to host the 2020 Republican National Convention, and as such convinced the RNC to hold it in Pittsburgh, the former Steel City and a place where the constituency targeted by Mike Pence - white working class voters, live. His VP pick will be announced on August 22nd, 2 days before the Conventions, however schedules have already been made as well as the unofficial themes of the days and they look like this -

Day 1 - The Legacy of Donald Trump

While President Donald Trump and his relationship with Mike Pence will be brought up throughout the Convention, this day will be especially focused on that. Participants will get to watch videos presenting the accomplishments of the Donald Trump Administration, how he put his trust in Mike Pence and what a great working relationship delivering results for the people they had. The speeches, aside from the classical stump speech, will also get a flavor of Trumpism and they will mainly be given by officials elected in 2018 (so no anti-Trump statements from their past can be found by the Democrats) such as Ron DeSantis, Josh Hawley, Mike DeWine, Martha McSally, Brian Kemp and others. Speeches will also be made by Trump Administration officials, as well as Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. However, the main speeches of the night will be 2. The first one will be made by Ivanka Trump, who will announce her endorsement for Pence after a short-lived primary challenge, and the advisors have high hopes of her being able to bring enthusiasm both to moderates and to Trumpists, and the second will be made by Donald Trump himself, who will hold his first (brief) public remarks since his stroke. The campaign thinks that this will be the spotlight of the night.

Day 2 - The Trump Coalition

While the first day was all about Donald Trump, the second one will be all about the way he won the 2016 elections. The campaign is decided to win votes from both the staunch conservatives and the white working class (as Trump did), and this day will appeal to those 2 categories, both of which seem rather reluctant towards Mike Pence. The speakers will be staunch conservatives, such as Freedom Caucus members and many of the Senators who defected with Mitch McConnell (through not McConnell himself), Rustbelt politicians such as Joni Ernst, Kim Reynolds, Scott Walker, Pat Toomey and many simple manufacturing workers or union leaders who will talk about how the Republican administrations (especially the Pence one) helped them and their families. The Trumpist view on trade will be promoted during this day as well as a rather rightist view on social issues. The keynote speech will be given by Vice President Reed.

Day 3 - The Moderates

The third day of the RNC will be focused on winning over the moderates and minority voters. While Mike Pence had gone a long way into ensuring their support with his legislative accomplishments, the campaign still feels that more can be done in order to get as many of them to vote for the Republicans in November. A central theme of the day will be to promote the strong economy and the prosperity it created in the country, as well as the Mike Pence-promoted legislation which is thought to have produced a clear, positive effect in the life of every American citizen. However, that will likely not be enough, so another theme will be #newGOP. This re-branding is in many ways a new version of the compassionate conservatism of the Bushes and it seeks to change the way Republicans are perceived by many from the party of bigotry, tax cuts for the rich and taking insurance away from millions to the party of common sense solutions to fix the problems of America which fights against the real radicals - the liberal and socialists Democrats. All moderate Representatives, Senators and Governors will speak on this day as well as most minority Republican officials. The keynote speech will be given by the VP candidate who is going to be announced soon.

Day 4 - Mike Pence

In the final day of the RNC, the focus will be on President Mike Pence. Videos of his family, his youth, his accomplishments as Governor and President will be up a lot during this day, and the speeches will be made by people who had a chance to work with him personally. There will also be a lot of establishment Republicans speaking, hoping they will manage to unite the moderates, mainstream conservatives and extremist conservatives, together with white working class voters in a coalition to re-elect Mike Pence. The President will hold his acceptance speech, however it will be a little different, as it will be held right after the roll call vote to nominate him, hoping it will create a high-lighted moment by the media.

Mike Pence ad - Who is with you? - airing in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina and Arizona

Narrator - The Democrats have long claimed to be the party of the working men. But actions speak louder than words. So let us hear the facts speak -

The Democratic Party has voted against legislation proposed by my Administration to cut your taxes, rebuild your infrastructure, fight the opioid crisis, lower the cost of prescription drugs, offer school choice to the poorest among us, providing affordable childcare and paid family leave. All this time, they told you lies about this projects, about how they were going to doom the nation, but you know the truth. You know because you and your community are benefiting of them, because they made your life better.

On top of that, they nominated a flip flopper, a heartless opportunist. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, turned overnight from the poster girl of the NRA to a proud socialist. She would allow people like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez to make the laws of the nation as long as it suited her interests. She can not be trusted.

On November 3rd, ask yourself - who is really with you?

Mike Pence - I am Mike Pence, I approve this message, and vote for your childrens future on November 3rd.

The speech of President Mike Pence announcing his VP pick

Good afternoon, my fellow Americans. Today, I am proud to announce the person whom I hope to be my partner in governing for the next four years. It was not an easy choice, however, she was from the start an outstanding candidate with whom I can think we can accomplish great things together. She is a patriot, a competent diplomat who had exceptional results in all of her public offices, a fierce public servant who is liked and loved by the American people. So, please welcome the soon-to-be first woman Vice President in the history of the United States, Ambassador Nikki Haley!

The summarized acceptance speech of Mike Pence - RNC, Pittsburgh, 27th August 2020

My fellow Republicans, my fellow Americans, I humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the Presidency of the United States.

Today, I urge you to look back to July 2016, when our party reunited in Cleveland to nominate President Donald Trump and myself to win back the White House. Then, our country was a shadow of its former self, terrorism and ISIS were on the rise, Russia and China were looming over us, the economy was stagnant, jobs were leaving to Mexico, thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants were entering our country every day.

Now, I believe all American citizens, both in this room and watching us from home, can answer the famous - Are you better off than you were 4 years ago? - with a confident Yes. Our economy is stronger, more jobs are added each and every month, our taxes are the lowest they have been since Ronald Reagan, the opioid crisis is being defeated as we speak, childcare is affordable and mothers have paid family leave, our infrastructure is being rebuilt, our law enforcement is doing its job, illegals are deported instead of protected, terrorism is being contained, the threats of ISIS and North Korea are no more. America is at its strongest, most prosperous, most powerful in decades. However, we can not stop here and we will not stop here. Because for us, Making America Great Again is not just an interesting catchphrase, it is the goal towards which we dedicate our energy and passion every day.

Well, that is not what we can say about our opponents. They are partisan hackers at best, malevolent fighters against America at worst. For as long as they have bragged about being the party of the people, they have voted against every single piece of legislation drafted by us for the good of the people. They have nominated an empty suit, an opportunist changing ideologies as if they were socks. What Representative Gillibrand fought for, became what Senator Gillibrand fanatically fought against. And what Senator Gillibrand fought for, Presidential candidate Gillibrand dismissed as if it were the work of the devil. She has no principles, no coherent vision, and would gladly implement socialism in the United States of America. We can not allow it.

Today, we stand at crossroads in the history of our nation. Do we want to continue on this path to prosperity, to Make America Great Again, or do we want to go back into the past, to let Cowardice Win? I hope that you will make the right choice.

Thank you, God Bless you and God Bless the United States of America!

Rally in support of President Pence and the newly founded Working Class Democrats for Pence Committee - 1st October, Kenosha, Wi

Attended by President Mike Pence and the Rustbelt officials who endorsed him this week, the rally in Kenosha, Wisconsin, announced the endorsement of the said officials for the Republican ticket as well as the creation of an organization named Working Class Democrats for Pence, chaired by the politicians who attended. The new organization will have the mission of showing the working people of the Industrial Midwest which party has their interests in mind and which is just using them for electoral purposes.

The Democratic officials all shared their reason for which they defected from their party in favor of the President, which was the revival of the Midwest during the Trump and Pence Presidencies and the legislative accomplishments of the Pence Administration for the working people of the states, as opposed to the Democrats voting against their welfare for partisan reasons and getting out of touch with them, fighting cultural wars and promoting radical policies to please the coastal socialists and their donors. A big reason for their endorsement was also Kirsten Gillibrand, as both her radical proposals and her opportunistic nature scarred them away from her campaign. This will be the primary message of the organization and one the main ones of the Pence campaign in the region until November.

President Mike Pence reiterated their statements and promised the people of the Midwest further reforms in their favor if he is re-elected.

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Have you seen the last reports of campaign finances? It turns out that Tom Steyer or the Chief Swampist, humiliated in the Dem primaries even through he had the most money BY FAR, is now the BIGGEST DONOR of Flip Flopping Kirsten Gillibrand! I do not even want to think what he asked her to do in return, as I know that she would do anything for donations (as President Trump told us) and she has a history of opportunism, turning from a moderate rightist into a hardline leftist in a week! (Soon to be hardline conservative?)

Mike Pence @presidentpence

Only God knows what immoral and/or illegal deeds has Steyer asked Flip Flopping Kirsten Gillibrand to commit in exchange for his dirty money, however what we know is that if she is elected, the swamp will govern uncontested again only a year after this Administration started to drain it! #SayNoToGillibrand/Steyer2020 #DrainTheSwamp

Opening statement

- Well, let me also thank you Anderson and Laura, as well as all of the great organizers of this debate and to the American people for watching us tonight. We are here in Notre Dame, Indiana, a place near and dear to my heart, as I had the great honor of representing this community both in the House of Representatives and as their Governor. As I walk down the streets of this great city, I remember what it used to be. It was a place ignored by DC, in which the politicians that it elected only came here for re-election campaigns, it was a place losing hundreds of jobs every month, and people were leaving to work in distant places, it was a place losing hope. And I remember how hard I have tried to fix this. As Governor, I have signed one of the biggest tax cuts in the history of this state, I have increased funding for schools so every kid can have a guaranteed right to quality education, I have restricted abortions made for absurd reasons such as the race or gender of the child. However, only now I see the effects. After four years of the Trump-Pence Administrations, this place is booming again. And the hopeful, hard working community is back. This is the American Revival that we have started all around the country. And I know that there is so much more to be done, to ensure prosperity for everyone, from the farmer in Nebraska to the factory worker in Ohio to the miner in West Virginia. Because the forgotten men and women are forgotten no longer. So I ask you no more than ever to join us in our fight to Make America Great Again once and for all. Thank you.

Question one -
Thank you for the question. Well, I think that it is clear for everyone that my Administration has accomplished more for the working people of this country in one year than others did in eight. However, there is so much more to be done in order to ensure that in America, no American should have to live in poverty or struggle to put food on the table for them and for their children. Which is why one of the first priorities for me will be to enact education reform. Every child in America should attend a functional school of their own choice, and I will pass legislation similar to the Pence-Rhee School Choice and Education Opportunity Act of 2019 to do just that. Another priority for me will be to build the necessary border fencing with Mexico. We should fight against all illegal deeds, and that includes illegal immigration. If they want to come here and build a home in America, they should do so legally, not violating our laws while also taking our jobs. We will also continue deregulating and cutting taxes for businesses, especially the small ones, so that they can produce new jobs and help our economy to continue booming for years to come. I plan on doubling our yearly growth rate so we can lift as many people out of poverty as possible. I will also pass a law implementing a national right to carry, continue rebuilding our military and continue our criminal justice and VA reforms.

Question two -
Well, I disagree. I am using Twitter as a way to directly communicate with the American people and to tell them the truth about this election, because the mainstream media is not interested in reporting the truth. They are, like in 2016, biased towards the Democratic Party and helping it in its effort to manipulate the country into voting against its own interests. And, besides, many DC pundits who have last been to Middle America 30 years ago are claiming that the division and the partisanship are on the rise.  However, when I go to communities all around the country, that is certainly not what I see. I see hard-working, hopeful, united communities who, regardless of political preferences, are there to help and spend time with each other. And they, even as Senator Gillibrand and the mainstream media are desperate to tell them otherwise, recognize the good things that have been done for them during the past 4 years and look forward with hope to a future in which no one will have to struggle to put food on their table.

The third question -
I have always respected the ambition and natural sense of opportunity that Senator Gillibrand has. She has had remarkable electoral victories because of her ability to sense opportunities and act on them, and did whatever it took to get where she is now. I am sure it was not easy, given that, as she always says, won in a district where the number of farm animals outnumbered Democrats, and I respect that deeply.

Closing statement -
Kirsten Gillibrand, with the help of her establishment backers and wealthy donors, is doing anything to produce noise, to distract, to deflect, to prevent you from asking the all-important question of this election. And that is - are you better off than you were 4 years ago? I think the answer is a clear Yes. Despite the loud opposition of Kirsten Gillibrand and the Democratic Party for purely electoral reasons, we have reduced your taxes, started repairing the infrastructure of your community, started fighting the opioid crisis with clear, positive effects, limited lobbying so that Congress can listen to your voice again, offered affordable childcare and paid family leave to every family, limited illegal immigration, deregulated the small businesses of the country, started the fight to repeal Citizens United and so much more. Today, our country is more prosperous than ever before in its recent history, with millions of jobs being added every year. We have to continue down on this path, and I hope that on November 3rd, you will make the right choice for the future of your children. Thank you.

The rebuttal of President Mike Pence

To Question Two

Well, that was one of the most weird responses I have ever heard. Because just as Representative and Senator Gillibrand changed ideologies by the minute, in this response, Presidential candidate Gillibrand changed topics by the minute. She is insulting the intelligence of our viewers by thinking they can not remember an one-sentence question, but well, as a matter a fact, they can. And the reason she is doing this is that she has no justification for the hundreds of thousands of dollars she has received from persons and institutions fighting against her new-found progressive cause. Morgan Stanley gave her 200.000 dollars. Goldman Sachs gave her 200.000 dollars. JPMorgan gave her 200.000 dollars. Why would all of this banks give money to support a candidate who will fight against them, like progressives claim they will do? Well, because as a Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand has been fighting hard. And no, not for the people of New York, for her donors. She fought against multiple Wall Street regulations, such as derivatives trading regulations. For this, Wall Street gave her their money and their full backing. And no matter how much Senator Gillibrand tries to change topics, her record is as clear as day.

General rebuttal

Well, tonight, Senator Gillibrand attempted to paint a picture of an America that is in disarray, weaker then ever, collapsing on the international stage, collapsing with the economy, an America that is getting worse and worse. The problem is, that is not true. And you, the people, know it and feel it every day. She claims that there is constant uneasiness about America on the international stage. Well, four years ago, ISIS was on the rise, radical Islamic terrorists were taking control over significant parts of the Middle East and North Africa, North Korea was becoming a country with nuclear weaponry, China was ripping us off in trade deals, Russia was attacking Ukraine and threatened to be more to follow. And the Obama Administration failed to fix any of these issues. After four years of Republican Administrations, there is a lot more peace and prosperity in the world. Of course, there is a lot more to be done, but the progress is undeniable. Then, she claims that people are constantly losing their jobs. Well, guess what, millions of new jobs have been added. She says that we want to keep the same old tax systems, but we have passed two revolutionary projects to reform the tax code, and as a result, millions of working families in America got a significant tax cut. Senator Gillibrand can say whatever she wants, but between her and the reality you see every day, who would you believe?

Opening statement -

Let me also thank you, Anderson and Laura, and the University of Michigan for hosting this debate, as I believe that it is important for the American people to be provided with a debate based on facts and hard evidence, not just talking points and meaningless attacks. And I will tell the American people the facts. The GDP is growing at a stable rate, and I am sure that we can make it to go even higher with smart economic policies such as deregulation and tax cuts aimed specifically at small businesses, the unemployment rate is lower then ever, 7 million new jobs have been added during the past 3 and a half year, including 500.000 new manufacturing jobs, wages grew by about 10% since 2015, the stock markets rose by 60%, taxes are lower then ever for working and middle class Americans, the opioid addiction crisis is coming to an end, affordable childcare is now reality and not a distant dream, lobbying activities have been lowered dramatically in Washington DC, the infrastructure all around the country is being rebuilt as we speak. These are the facts. Politicians have tried to distort them, to ignore them, to outright lie about them, but the truth is the truth. And on November 3rd, when you go at the ballot box, remember that the truth does not cost you anything, but a lie could cost us all everything.

Question 1 -

Well, thank you for the question. I must say that I do not pay close attention to the polls anymore, after in 2016 Hillary Clinton lead President Trump by 7% for most of the electoral cycle and by 10% in Wisconsin and Michigan. I take my information directly from the people that I am meeting and the communities that I am visiting, and from what I see, I do have a stronger movement behind me. Because while Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is giving high priority to her wealthy donors like Mike Bloomberg and Tom Steyer or to her Wall Street supporters, I give high priority to the voters of this nation and that can be seen on the campaign trail every day. And while Senator Gillibrand gives scripted, generic answers, edited months before this debate in focus groups, I speak my mind and tell the American people just like it is. And for those reasons, I am ahead in the battleground states, and I am very proud of my campaign and my supporters for all the hard work they have been putting into this election so that we can Make America Great Again for all, together.

Question 2 -

Thank you for the question. First of all, let me begin with an apology to the American people, but especially to all the women and girls who felt like their President was expressing misogynistic views. I made a mistake by phrasing my tweet in that particular way, but I assure you that it was never my intent to insinuate anything sexist or sexual. Whatever Senator Gillibrand does in her personal life is none of my concern, however, what she does in governing is, and that is what I was talking about. I am worried about certain favors Tom Steyer asked for in return for his money from a potential Gillibrand Administration. I have personally witnessed his way of operating, when I tried to pass the tax reform to help the working and middle class Americans struggling to put food on their table or living in constant fear of losing their source of income. He did not like how it was closing loopholes that advantaged him as a billionaire, so he threatened sitting US Representatives with funding primary challenges if they voted in favor. I am worried that he asked Kirsten Gillibrand to restore the closed loopholes and to pass tax reforms which advantaged him personally in order to fund her campaign. And it is not just Steyer. Why would Mike Bloomberg, the Mayor of the stop-and-frisk hated so much by socialists, fund the campaign of a so-called socialist in Senator Gillibrand? Not to mention all the money she got from banks like Morgan Stanley. These are all legitimate questions that someone has got to ask.

Question 3 -

I would tell them to vote for actual results instead of vague promises. In 2016, you sent Donald Trump and myself to the White House, hoping for us to finally deliver results for the people of this nation, after years of broken promises and disappointments. And we have. No matter what platitudes tested in focus groups is Senator Gillibrand telling us, no matter what dirty attacks her donors are spouting in ads, no matter what lies the mainstream media is promoting, you know that is true. And when I meet people around the country, that is clear to them as well. So I hope that on November 3rd, Middle America will once again send its message to DC, that it can not continue down this path, and that politicians need to be honest with voters and actually represent them if they want to win an election ever again in the United States of America.

Question 4 -

My fellow Americans, tonight you have heard me and Senator Gillibrand discussing our plans for America. While one is backed by actual facts, one is backed by platitudes and talking points, and contradicted by the actions of its promoters. The campaign has been long, but we must not lose perspective, because the choice we have to make on November 3rd will be decisive for the future we will create together. When you go to the polls, do not think about petty issues, but about what country do we want to live in. Do we want to live in a country in which the politicians stand by their word, or in one in which they change positions as if they were socks? Do we want to live in a country in which the President tells it as it is, or one in which he is guided by polls? Do we want to live in a country in which the government is by the people, with the people and for the people, or one in which some wealthy billionaires are dictating everything? Do we want to live in a country with low taxes and regulations, or one with overbearing government influence? Do we want to live in a country where children are left to get poor education in low performance schools because some bureaucrats said so, or one in which they and their families can choose for themselves? Do we want to live in a country led by lobbyists and by those who opposed regulating drug prices, or in one led by those who fought the Big Pharma and the lobbyists? And do we want to live in a country led by those who tolerated the opioid crisis or by those who managed to scale it back dramatically? These are the questions that I am asking you to think about tonight, and I hope that on November 3rd, you will join me to Make America Great Again for everyone.

The rebuttal of President Pence

Well, Senator Gillibrand has certainly put forward quite an broad, appealing-to-all platform in this election. And I agree with her that we must change something, but the problem is that she does not know what we need to change. Because while she has said some platitudes about making college affordable, improving test results and helping school districts out tonight, in 2019 she voted against a project near and dear to my heart called the Pence-Rhee School Choice and Opportunity Act of 2019, which would have expanded the government programs to help students get to college and worked with universities to dramatically reduce costs and the student debt. If this passed college affordability would have been solved, but Kirsten Gillibrand and the Democratic Party have decided that giving up on that is worth it to win this election. She has also said that we need to put food on the table of the American people. Well, agreed, but when I proposed my middle tax cuts plan which has unleashed tremendous economic growth and helped middle class Americans, she said that the Middle Class was cut out, joining Steyer in lying to the people, and then fighting tooth-and-nail to prevent it from passing. She said that she thinks the healthcare system needs to be reformed. Great, so do I! But I tried twice to pass a bill implementing full price transparency and drug price controls, and the Senator voted no and the House Democrats blocked it. She said she supports Gun Reform. Well I am afraid that the Senator forgot the times when she was fighting together with Steve King against gun control measures, or when the NRA was promoting her as their poster girl. She claimed that I started to combat the opioid crisis because she and her donor, together with Stacey Abrams, pressured me to do so, before weirdly switching to the problem of obesity. Probably the Senator is trying her best to be an alternate historian, because that is not what happened. We all remember when Ms. Abrams was running from meeting with me at the White House to discuss the problem. And after they so-called pressured me, her and Steyer proceeded to fight against the bill anyway, a bill which has saved thousands of lives. This is the reality we are facing right now, and the truth is, we just do not know what Kirsten Gillibrand would do in office, because her actions and her speech are contradicting each other at every sentence. We need to have a President who knows exactly what to do in office, and tells that to the American people with honesty and openness. Thank you.

That's because Nikki Haley didn't respond to the VP debate

Also, as a bonus to remember the good old times -

Mike Pence @formerpresidentpence

Despite being BETRAYED by DeSantis, I WON in Florida by an astounding margin! Even the betrayal of the Florida GOP was not enough to stop our movement: take that, DeSantis!

Mike Pence @formerpresidentpence

I have been BETRAYED by the entire party, and yet I came 1.000 votes in NC from winning - 2024 will be a treat. I wonder what ideology Flip Flopping Kirsten Gillibrand will have by then - probably anarchism!
