You are being a bigot right now. All prejudice is stupid. Not liking somebody because where they are from is like not liking somebody because they were born on a Tuesday. It is true that certain places may have certain trends of people but this does not justify any prejudice. If you want to be liberal, then you have to treat everybody you meet like an individual and not attach labels to them. You attack the south for being prejudice but you are doing it yourself. Being from the south means you are from the south, it does not mean you are racist or whatever.

You're describing libertarianism, buddy, not liberalism, which has always taken humanity as a gestalt.

You measure humanity by getting to know the individual, not knowing where they are from. Treating people as individuals and being against prejudice is one of the first principles of liberalism, it is in England anyway.

English liberalism is a more libertarian version of American conservatism; it has nothing to do with New Deal politics.

What are you trying to say? American liberalism accepts prejudice or what?

This is stupid, you people are saying you hat the south because we don't believe like you do. That just makes you a bigot.

If you classify a history of sexism, racism, and homophobia as "beliefs" then I feel sorry for you.

Hate sexists, racists and homophobic people but not all southerners are like that, therefore it is unjustified to generalize when you talk of your hatred.

American conservatism is far more conservative than British conservatism. So, how can English liberalism be tied to American conservatism when it is such an opposite.
The main difference is that America has two main ideologies, while Britain has three, including socialism. There are no mainstream socialists in America, so American liberalism has adopted many basic socialist ideas.

Also Marokai Blue if you don't like the US, Canada is only a few hours away, move there.

More of the same from the moron defending a region that left the United States en masse. But hey, that's okay, I understand you assholes have to project your guilty consciences somehow.

The south did what they said they were going to do. Put up or shut up. Canada isn't far away. Both of you can move there if you harbor that much contempt for parts of this country.

Did I say I was going to leave the United States, redneck? Why don't you stop putting words in my mouth and go back to working your plot of land or whatever it is you cowpokes do down there. You inbred morons don't have a monopoly on the United States.

When you start using discrimatory insults, then it shows you see the world in very simple terms.
