One thing people on this thread don’t grapple with is that people only have limited time and energy to follow conflicts. Demanding that people give the same amount of energy to every conflict be it Gaza, Yemen, Myanmar, Sudan, etc. is not just unrealistic it’s cruel. Sympathy isn’t all of nothing.
Okay but the focus shouldn’t be disproportionately on one from a societal level.

Lowkey I hope this happens at my university too.
I would rather spend my graduation day doing something fun with my family and then receiving the degree in the mail than have to sit through a tedious ceremony just for nice photo ops.

You can already do this. Why would you want to have it cancelled when there's thousands of students who do want to attend?
Um because my parents feel compelled to go so naturally I will have to as well. Plus I enjoy thinking that thousands of people will have their experience ruined.

Virtue signaling and wanting to identify themselves as an ally and adopt a “progressive” identity. It’s not about human right or even media coverage, or we would’ve seen much greater protests against Bucha than irl. It’s all about self identity.

Of course people like GMac who dismiss all concerns of young voters without even an ounce of sympathy don’t help, but they are doing that for the same reasons ironically (the desire to self identify as a good “moderate”)

I think it's the epitome of privilege to throw away an Ivy League education over a cause that has nothing to do with your university and can't have any impact on the thing you're protesting. Like sure, Israel needs to wind down this war, and it is terrible look for them to kill as many civilians in 6 months as we killed in the much larger country of Afghanistan in over 20 years, but is it really worth getting expelled when your protest isn't going make any difference?

These students had a great opportunity and squandered it for nothing, and it's no surprise that "middle America" does not and will emphasis empathize with them.
I fully support as many students as possible doing stuff like this, especially in my area. They must do it for Palestinian liberation!

R's are making ads connecting student loan cancellation to the protests. Not really a great ad overall but the concept isn't bad .
This is brutal.

I really think you should stop engaging with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as much as possible for the time being. We saw what you posted before you were infracted, and it’s clear that this is leading you down a very dark path. To put it bluntly, you are being - or have already been - radicalized into racism.

Nothing about this post is racist and you should apologize for making such an obviously false allegation.

Nothing about my post I got infracted for was racist either.  The mods have done me a disservice by deleting it so that people can just run around telling wild lies about what it said.  If anyone wants the actual original post, DM me on Discord.
You advocated for forcibly removing every last Palestinian from Gaza. How else do you want to to interpret that?
