How plausible is this map? I flipped a couple of the closer plains states R on the assumption that a stronger National Democrat showing flips them to McKinley, and gave some of the states where McKinley did better in the South (ie getting 46% in Virginia or 37% in Georgia) to the candidate on the assumption that most of the voters were defecting Democrats anyway.

For what is worth, here is my attempt at recreating that on the The Campaign Trail game (it is very easy actually, just answer you want a "true enforcement of the 14th and 15th amendment" and Palmer surges in the South)
