XV-A history of Koolheuven

This district is names so after the abundance of coal. Several mines were set up in the 19th century. With coal came the powerplants and then the industry. Appealing to the factory owners was the fact that there were low taxation rates and easy access to a valuable commodity.

Today, it is a large industrial center with an even larger working class. Land rates are low, and there is much room for expansion.
