Rising Star

My man here probably isn't going to break double digits in his primary, but sure, "Rising Star." This guy is a total joke.

One Sanders supporter sent me a link to the article in Newsweek when I pointed out the fact that the mainstream media has ignored this. I think it would have been a huge deal if something like this happened to Al Gore or George W Bush, and Newsweek was the first "mainstream" outlet to cover it, but correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Newsweek at this point a joke? Nobody reads magazines anymore. They've been bought and sold multiple times. I'm pretty sure at this point they are just a website trying to stay relevant where somebody paid a lot of money for the rights to that name. I could be wrong.

Yeah, Newsweek isn't Newsweek anymore, it's one of many legacy brands which has had its name bought so that there's a credible, recognizable old name on content.

The Krassensteins, myself, and others in the Dem social media sphere have combed her social media and public records and discovered a mountain of inconsistencies in her story, several outright lies she's told in the past, and strong evidence of mental illness.

This is a hell of a sentence.

Democrat Joshua Collins, a socialist candidate running for U.S. Congress to replace retiring Rep. Denny Heck, 26, a rising star, says that he cannot vote for Joe Biden if he is the nominee in November due to the rape allegations, and it is literally not up for debate.

If I were an advisor to Biden, I'd probably want him to say something like: "My actions in the past might have made certain women uncomfortable, and for that I apologize. The #MeToo movement has empowered many brave women to come forward and share their stories. As president, I will champion the rights of women as I have done in the past." I don't think that it's a good idea for him to directly address it, as it gives it oxygen and he shouldn't risk being seen as attacking Reade.

If I were "advising" him, I'd tell him to keep ignoring this for now. Any admission of wrongdoing will prompt demands for more apologies and details.

He needs to do something to demonstrate that he takes this seriously, and whether that takes the form of an apology or a denial should be dictated by the facts. Many of the responses that we've seen from campaign surrogates have been worse than hearing nothing at all. (Gillibrand's comments in particular made me want to vomit.)

Another problem that this has raised, speaking personally, is that it has forced me to confront just how bad Biden's unwanted touching problem always was. Because it's not just about the stuff that all of us see during the photo ops. By his own admission he was like that all the time, and, in a less public setting, it's more difficult for the object of that behavior to be sure that it's not intended as a sexual advance.

I don't know. If this is a take-down or a "disinformation campaign," it has been a highly effective one. I don't know what to make of Tara Reade, but - unless they have read something that I haven't, and I have read every detail about this that I can get my hands on - I do know what to make of a lot of important Democrats.

My point, from a purely strategic angle, is that apologizing just invites more scrutiny and more apology demands. It's not a winning game. Trump has shown the best approach to scandal is to "So what" about it and just keep going rather than giving any ground whatsoever up.

So...can we just agree to not take anything on Medium seriously, whether helpful or harmful to our candidates? Thanks in advance.

Only 24% of Democrats view a record of sexual assault as disqualifying for a potential president? WTF?

Trump's numbers, for context.

It looks like the Megyn Kelly interview was a big flop, especially for it being Reade's first "TV interview." Looks like no one really covered it today, which makes me wonder if most news outlets are starting to double think the whole story's credibility...

It didn't get a lot of coverage because it isn't even really a TV Interview. Getting a video done on Megyn Kelly's Instagram page is not TV Journalism.

Is this contributing to Biden’s declining polling margin on RCP? I’m very worried about it...

RCP's average is...well...an average. At the moment there are only five polls in it. Biden's decline is basically totally due to the fact that the IBD/TIPP poll is more heavily weighted because some of the older polls dropped off. Once that poll works its way out of RCP's system, Biden's lead will rise again. RCP has these things where you just have to wait for one really weird poll to work its way through the average and out the other side.

That’s devastating right there. My last post on this subject mysteriously disappeared, but I really think the Biden team needs to push the crazy b**ch narrative harder. This is definitely a good start.

The Biden Team should do no such thing. The Biden Team is doing exactly the right thing at the moment regarding this story.
