If Jesus came back why would he be in the US? More likely he's stuck in the West Bank and is shot by the IDF trying to get to Jerusalem through the barrier.
Edit: or what The Mikado said. He starts another ultra-Orthodox sect proclaiming himself the Messiah with the goal of taking over Israel and rebuilding the Temple to institute the 1,000 year Kingdom of God. If successful the bulldozing of the al-Aqsa Mosque triggers a war with the Islamic world which ends in a nuclear exchange killing millions and irradiating much of the Middle East.
People really are against the whole concept of nurture and educational background/early life experiences shaping who a person is, I guess. Guy with supernatural powers convinced he's a deity with this background almost certainly would be a very scary figure and not one that most lefties would really find to their tastes, which is why I find it so weird that people in this thread are all "LOL right wingers would hate him."
How many of you would react well to a man who claims to be the Son of God who has old widows give up their entire life savings to give him an oil massage, has people resign their productive careers and give up all their assets to his new religious movement as management, and makes it a point of using supernatural powers to destroy herds of pigs and valuable trees? Who, when asked about his destructive doctrines encouraging families to turn against each other and even says "Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be my disciple" in order to isolate his disciples from their loved ones? Who, when interviewed about his beliefs, responds with cryptic and nonsensical stories about mustard seeds?
Jesus works if you accept the premise that he is the Son of God. If you don't, he comes off as the original New Age cult leader and seems a very dangerous figure.
