Hey, is this a situation where the Senate may choose to not swear Moore in? I know we talked about this for Gianforte in the House, which of course didn't happen, but I mean that was just for punching a guy. This is a whole other level of disgusting offenses.

It'd require a 2/3rds majority. I actually do think this is possible, if only because the GOP knows that any Republican except Moore would be a shoo-in and that way they wouldn't have a pedophile in their caucus, which is bad for PR reasons.

McConnell and company need that reliable vote too badly.

They wouldn't lose it, though. They'd kick Moore out, AL Governor Ivey would pick a Republican replacement (quite likely Strange again), and that person would hold the seat until ANOTHER special election in 2018. There's zero downside to expelling Moore.

Well In fairness to Republicans, it is Breitbart. Better than 90% of the people who read it are literally horrible neo-nazis. The fact that they are also rape apologists isn't the least bit surprising.

Though in also equally harsh fairness to Republicans, Breitbart has more influence over policy and policymakers today than actual conservative journalism like the Wall Street Journal.

I read Breitbart.

Yes, as Badger pointed out in his quote.

I am impressed with the fact that the 'voting rights' party is skipping over the minor detail of losing the elections and directly proceeding to schemes to simply steal it.

But no, if Powell v McCormack holds, losers of elections are not permitted to do such a thing, at least in the House. Such logic almost surely carries over to Senate elections.

I think what people are thinking of is the Senate expelling Moore and letting Governor Ivey appoint a new interim R Senator.
