I grew up knowing a family whose last name was Cocke. Why not just change it to Cooke? Your ancestors would want you to if they knew what that word had come to mean.

I'm of the belief that if you can survive your teenage years with a "difficult" name, it reaps dividends in networking later in life as everyone remembers it on the first go.

I remember meeting a Mr Doctor one time 10 years ago, not to mention Trump himself.
