Elizabeth Warren promises to have at least half of her cabinet be women if elected.

Kevin Robillard at HuffPost:
Quote
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Tuesday promised to appoint women or nonbinary people to at least half of the top positions in the executive branch if she wins the presidency.

The pledge comes as Warren, one of the three leading 2020 Democratic candidates in national polling, is seeking to consolidate and rally female voters ahead of crucial early primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire. After New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and California Sen. Kamala Harris dropped out of the race, Warren and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar are the only major female candidates remaining in the presidential primary.

Warren had a bit of a viral moment on the campaign trail yesterday, but not the good kind:

I thought she had plan for everything, but she couldn't answer a simple question. Well, she is used to CNN & MSNBC. They don't ask tough questions.

Bernie and Pete went to Fox News Town Hall. Warren didn't. This video explains why.

Liz Warren Finishes In 5th Place In Pocahontas County, Iowa
Quote
The Iowa Democratic Party released the first partial vote count from Monday night’s Iowa caucuses Tuesday showing former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg holding a slight lead over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. The partial vote count also showed Warren, of Massachusetts, in fifth place in Pocahontas County, Iowa with all precincts reporting.

Buttigieg received 34% of the delegates in Pocahontas County, according to the Detroit Free Press, while Sen. Amy Klobuchar and former Vice President Joe Biden had 22%. Sen. Bernie Sanders took 10%, followed by Warren with 8%.

I just leave it here.

Warren's supporters have outsmarted themselves.

Why didn't those people flip to Biden then? There's no need to reach for implausible explanations when the ones already being discussed work fine.

You're asking why they didn't flip to Biden but to very "similar" and presumably more electable (than Warren) Bernie"?

Trump's reference>>>
having a “nice cold beer” with her husband!

Trump knows about the race more that I thought he did.  Mean, but hilarious!

Aw, Liz was on fire (even if it was way too late to save her campaign).

More than 200 Cherokees and other Native Americans have signed a letter urging Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren to fully retract her past claims to being Native and help dispel false beliefs held by many white people that they have American Indian ancestry.

The letter cites a Los Angeles Times investigation that found more than $800 million in government contracts reserved for minorities instead went to companies set up by members of groups with dubious claims to being Cherokee and Creek Indian tribes.

The letter describes The Times’ findings as an example of the harm done when white people rely on family lore and DNA tests to falsely assert Native American identity.
LMAO.

Quote
Warren previously apologized for claiming to be Native American, and for publicizing the results of DNA test that showed she likely had a distant ancestor indigenous to the Americas. She has apologized to the chief of the Cherokee Nation, has said she is not a member of a tribe and expressed regret over causing “confusion” about tribal membership.

But the authors of the letter — Cherokee Nation citizens Daniel Heath Justice, Joseph Pierce, Rebecca Nagle and Twila Barnes — called those apologies “vague and inadequate.” They say she needs to state clearly that family stories she heard were false, and that it is wrong to use DNA tests to determine Native American identity.

“As the most public example of this behavior, you need to clearly state that Native people are the sole authority on who is — and who is not — Native,” wrote the authors, who are Cherokee citizens but don’t speak on behalf of the tribe.

After receiving Warren’s response, three of the authors — Justice, Pierce and Nagle — said Warren “made an effort” to address their points about DNA tests and who gets to determine who is Native, but noted that Warren hasn’t recanted her family story. “We hope that after further dialogue with the campaign, Warren will bravely and publicly tell the truth about her family,” they said in an email to The Times.

To Warren-apologists.

Imagine a reverse situation. Warren surging to 30% in national polls, is a front-runner winning all H2H in primaries as well as in GE, while Bernie gets 5th place i SC and loses Vermont to Warren. What would you say if Bernie did as she does...

Don't bother to reply. We all know the answer.

Based in what Bernie did in 2016, I would absolutely expect him to stay in the race in this situation.

Bernie absolutely would have dropped out and endorsed Warren if the situations were reversed. He tried to convince her to run in 2016.

Why isn't he dropping out now?

Because he's the current national frontrunner?

But he said he would drop out if she ran. She is running. Why isn't he dropping out?

I think it proves Warren really cares about the progressive agenda more than taking out Sanders and it being all about herself. She probably doesn't see the point in sinking Bernie, when she really wants to see the Democratic party move in Sanders/Warren direction of free higher education, higher wages/benefits for working families, and socialized medicine.

She really has saved her vitriol for Bloomberg(deservedly) and the incrementalist Democrats saying the problems we need to tackle are too hard. She also had no problem going after Biden and his bankruptcy/credit companies stances of the past and how she was in direct opposition to him.

Warren is unlikely to be the nominee but she has kept the energy on the progressive side of the Party. It's good because it shows the support is not about a single candidate but what the voters are demanding.

No, she is a spoiler. Blooomy was eating Biden's share as most "reasonable" moderate. He was likely a papper tiger anyway, but he'd take more from Biden.

Now she keeps Bernie for getting momentum. Pete really wanted to stop Bernie and so he dropped out. Warren really wants to stop Bernie and so she doesn't. She is the worst thing that could happen to Progressive Agenda  Unamused

My thoughts:

1 Liz attacked Bernie with lame "he hates women" (mattered or not, but Bernie struggled with privileged white women).
2 She attacked Bloomy who was dividing the moderates.
3 Haven't endorsed Bernie before ST and likely never will.
4 🐍🐍🐍 disgrace.

I'm not sure I agree with the conventional wisdom that almost all of Warren supporters would support Sanders.  There is certainly some ill will between the two candidates, and I think that turned off many women Warren Supporters to Sanders.  I think Sanders would receive a majority of Warren's supporters, but I think that would be a smaller majority than the percentage of Bloomberg supporters who will now support Biden.  And Bloomberg appears to have a bigger base than Warren at this point.
Perhaps. But if she full-heartedly endorsed Bernie  before ST...
