This is a model of how Weimar elections would work under a system close to the Austrian. Here's how it works:

  • The electoral quota is set at the number of total votes divided by the number of seats.
  • Each party is awarded a number of seats at the Wahlkreis level equal to its votes divided by the quota.
  • All votes not used to elect a member at the Wahlkreis level are used to elect federal members.
  • Federal members are elected by d'Hondt, with a 4% threshold.

This is pretty damn close to what Weimar elections used already - although Weimar didn't fix the number of seats but made that dependent on raw votes cast.

Yes, but I'm also adding a threshold. It's not much, but the results should end up looking more like 2001 (especially with the DHP).
