Left - Keep abortion as it is presently. Safe, legal, and rare. Keep partial-birth abortion legal.

Balanced Budget:
Far-Left - A deficit and debt is fine.  Focus on social programs and how the government can better people's lives.

Business Tax:
Far-Left - Significantly increase business taxation.

Campaign Finance Reform:
Center-Left - We need to significantly reduce corporate and union donations. Ban soft money contributions.

Education:
Left - No school vouchers, large increase to federal funding. Modernize school system with more after-school programs.

Environment:
Far-Left - The environment should be our first national priority. Expand National Park System. Large government programs.

Free Trade:
Left - We need to erect large tariff barriers to protect all our industries and our labor market. Pull out of free trade agreements.

Gun Control:
Left - We need gun control! Ban certain guns. Require registration/background checks. Gun control protects children.

Health Care:
Left - Completely public health care system and include perscription drugs under medicare. Require health insurance for every child.

Immigration:
Left - Immigration is great! The more immigrants the better. Just require a criminal record check. Full blanket-amnesty.

Military Funding:
Left - Decrease funding for weapons and focus on spending for humanitarian relief.

Military Doctrine:
Far-Left - Remove all U.S. troops from foreign soil. No intervention! Our miltary need never be used.

Personal Tax:
Left - Increase income tax for the rich. Reduce for those in lower income bracket.

Social Security:
Far-Left - No to any private investment, dramatically increase funding.

Nation-Building:
Far-Left - We should not meddle in other's cultures, no matter our moral feelings about some events.

Civil Rights:
Center - Get the federal government out of civil rights. Leave affirmative action and same-sex unions to the states.

China:
Center - Monitor China within the World Trade Organization. Defend Taiwan.

Crime:
Far-Left - Society makes people bad, punishment worsens it. Rehabilitation is effective. No death penalty and prison industry.

Per Xahar's little list, I am to the right of him on 13 issues, agree with him on 4, and am to the left of him on 1. No, I won't tell you which issue I am to the left of him on. That is for me to know, and you to find out.

And the PF platform options aren't great, so I don't necessarily completely agree with everything I posted.

That's not center. Getting the federal government out of civil rights is, historically, far right. Obviously, your position is influenced by the Bush administration, and you'll outgrow it.

Hey, whatever it's your choice I guess. Am willing to brush up on spanish if need be. However, I think our european posters may have different opinions on this. Then again, I suppose it's rare to find a leftist who openly admits their goal is demographic replacement.

Reminder: Everyone being biologically equal doesn't mean all cultures are of equal level of desirability. I consider Dutch or Canadian or American culture superior to berber or Hindi culture. Why? It's simple the better off ones are the ones who adapt to modern realities. Therefore, those of us in western nations need to let in people more able to integrate into western nations(chinese, latins, christian africans and slavs). Hell, if you want arabic immigrants so much why not let in arab christians?

Why is it somehow personally insulting to note that cultural factors such as sexism(burqas anyone), too strong of religious control over society, lack of democratic tradition are holding some nations back such as say Bangladesh from embracing economic development and thus modernity?

I've been to Bangladesh 5 times. And I'll tell you that the problems don't lie there.

The US is a white colony that was modeled exactly after the home country. Taiwan and Korea weren't colonies of European nations, so it doesn't compare.

Reminder: In 20 year, if atlas is still around people will come in and read this thread and look on it with horror due to the leftist madness advocated in here. Leftism is dying in the west. In Europe it'll die with revolution by the native europeans and in the US it'll die with the baby boomers. There'll be social liberals and economic populists(neither on the same side often) but no or very few leftists.
