I object.
Freedom day makes it clear that it is about freedom. while the vague naming of "Juneteenth" makes it sounds like some postmodern commercial holiday of no real significance.
Juneteenth is a real holiday, based on a real event that happened in history. “Freedom day” is some abstraction that has no real meaning.
Interesting that a day celebrating freedom has no real meaning for you and is a simple 'abstraction'. As a Devout CentristTM perhaps this amendment may be more to your liking as it provides added specificity.
I Propose the following amendmentJUNETEENTH ACT
1. In celebration of the end of slavery in Atlasia, the 19th of June of every year is hereby proclaimed to be National EmancipationFreedom Day.
2. FreedomNational Emancipation Day shall be a federal holiday.
3. National Emancipation Day is colloquially know as 'Juneteenth'
4. This provision shall take effect immediately.
