I don't see the benefit in this bill specifically but I like the idea behind it. What's the cost for the minting?
My Previous bill of this kind had some of this information.A 3d hand sculpted die costs an average of $750-$1250 per die. A 3d plaster portrait die costs an average of $1750 - $1950 per die. Remember: 2 dies are required to produce a coin!
Sculpted dies allow for much greater detail... They may also be used for very intricate or highly detailed designs. Sculpted dies cost $1,500+
Life span of a die
...average dies for mirror finish medallions can stamp about 10,000 pieces before they start to wear out, and dies for frosted or antiqued finish medallions can stamp about 35,000 pieces before showing signs of wear.
The die for the Reverse side would be used for the other Governor tokens.
Then the cost of the materials would be either from the existing precious metals reserve from the TMTH FAPOSE Act or bought off the market.
So a lot of these figures as a ball park as it depends on what the finish is, style of die etc.
For the last bill regarding tokens the market rate of silver was about $15/oz. At time of posting the current price about $18.30/oz. So some maths for a guide to the cost.
Using 1/2oz tokens for a mint run of 5,000. That about $45,750 ball park figure per Governor.
Plus assuming $1,500 per die.
The Southern Region has 8 eligible Southern Governor's.
1. PiT
2. D.F.W. Libertylover (aka Doof) (1st Administration)
3. Diptheriadan
4. Never Again
5. Leinad
6. Doof (2nd Administration)
7. Diptheriadan
8. FairBol
9. Tmthforu94
So this makes a run for all eight individuals about $390,000 ($438,750 if Doof is minted for both his terms as 2nd & 6th). The Alternative is to make 1/4 ounce tokens and almost half the price (still need to make the dies)
