Obviously Peter Thiel needed her to make whatever concoction he’s brewing.

But seriously, when you’re that old, each day is (for the lack of a better word) a blessing. I’d bet she probably had several underlying conditions (what 96 year old has no health issues?) that ultimately killed her. But, for everyone, death is in fact inevitable.

She definitely did, even if the palace was and still is coy about them. And her decline in the last 18 months or so (Philip's death being a major factor there, of course) was evident and undeniable.

It’s listed as “old age”.

But her husband lived to be 99, and her mother 101.

What exactly happened that she is dead at 96 and these two lived past that? Not to mention we tended to predict she’d live past that as well!

She was only very distantly genetically related to her husband, so the length of his life doesn't matter. Her father died at 56 and her sister at 71. Those are both more both relevant data points.

She also had a lot of family troubles in recent years and at that age such things will have an effect, maybe she could have lived a few years longer without Andrew's Epstein connections and the Megxit drama.

Though both were massive smokers, and she wasn't.

And not to mention she lost her loved one last year, right?

I remarked at the time that couples together for anything like that long often died not too far apart.

Weird to see her legal name written out like a normal person. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.

I didn't even think she had a last name.

Though I think her offspring are actually styled Mountbatten-Windsor.

(this is how William was registered when he went to university, for example)
