Ireland should leave the EU. They have far more in common with northern Ireland and the rest of the UK than the EU.

5/10, must try harder Tongue

Once again, 5.000 or so (mostly conspiracy theorists and FPÖ-voters)

Large overlap between the two, it goes without saying.

It seems certain people in the EU are now busy questioning the AZ vaccine's effectiveness as a means of distracting from their monumental f*** up over Article 16 - I'm sure that can only end well Roll Eyes

("these vaccines are rubbish, but its a DISGRACE we aren't getting loads more of them!")

We have had over 100,000 people die here. Of course many of us want to vaccinated.

Several continental countries have had high death tolls as well - but are *still* less keen on vaccines than we are (and were even before the recent scaremongering over the AZ brand in particular)

A "roadmap" for the UK exiting lockdown is due to be announced by Johnson today.

Next stages in the UK vaccine rollout have been announced.

(though as an over-50, I am still waiting to hear when I will get my first jab)

Somehow Canada's 'national advisory committee on immunization' morons are even more stupid than Macron.

I wonder where the last holdouts on this will be?

Big stuff going on in Paraguay.

People going to the streets to demand the ousting of their president due to his reckless behavior in regards the COVID-19 pandemic. Strong police response against the protesters.

In what sense, another Bolsonaro type?

Looks like a slight hiccup in the UK's hitherto remarkably smooth vaccination process is incoming.

Merkel did a Johnson, you could even say.

(though she also said it was her own fault, which is very much not him)

And 29 million doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine casually turn up in an Italian warehouse where they were destined for Great Britain, Belgium, Covax participants, the EU, nobody really seems to be able to agree. All the more curious given the doses were apparently produced in a Dutch factory that has not yet been approved to produce vaccines for the European market. According the EU because AZ haven't applied for it.

This would be comical if it weren't for the fact that, you know, people are dying.
It doesn't need EU bureaucracy to ruin AstraZeneca's reputation, they do it themselves.

Some truth in this, but you can't help compare some of the stick they get to Sanofi getting off almost criticism free despite *not yet producing any usable vaccines at all*.

This death from blood clots thing seems to be a, quite literally, million to one chance?

Not for the first time, one wishes that society generally was better at assessing risk.

But certain actions (and inactions) from the Indian government certainly haven't helped.
