Republicans seem to have a higher regard for Chavez's ramblings than Democrats do.

In the same way Democrats have a higher regard for Rush's ramblings.

The Democrats regard for Rush's ramblings is feigned though.  No one actually cares.

They seemed to care a lot this past week.  (unless it was Pubbies starting those threads.  I don't know.  I don't think I read any of them.  Rush has been irrelevant to me for a long, long time.  If the GOP wants him then they too are irrelevant to me too.)

Hopefully a byproduct of declining oil prices is that he loses his funds to run a disgusting government and is deposed.

That may well happen, but I don't think that hoping for it is especially clever. It isn't as the process is likely to be anything other than ghastly and it isn't as though the new government would be any better.

The process has to happen eventually and there is always a chance the replacement will be better.  Staying with the devil you know is usually a mistake.
