I don't think that applies to submachine guns like Uzis though which is kind of perplexing as they have zero legit use. You can't use them to hunt and for self defense they're likely to hit bystanders and are unwieldy. Their main purpose is for drive bys. Why would any non gang member have any use for one? "Defend muh FREEDOMS against government TYRANNY" should not be a valid answer to anyone who lives in the real world.

submachine guns are automatic by definition (the ones that would stereotypicaly be used in a Hollywood driveby), thus therefore virtually illegal in the US.  A semiauto that kind of looks like a submachine gun exist, but they are functionally just sh**tty handguns.

gay sex isn't, but anal sex might be.  It certainly kills more Americans each year.  I don't know how you'd break down how much use the anus is getting vs the assault weapon, so specific numbers of casualties over time would be impossible to figure out.  In the way that more people die in swimming pools than rocking climbing doesn't make swimming more dangerous than rock climbing.  So I don't know if it's "as deadly" but one could certainly make the argument.

It's not quite as stupid as the "all guns should be banned" people on the other side.  It's not an argument I ever use, but there is SOME merit to it.  I don't like it because it's never going to happen.  The DoD is not going to start killing Americans, since, you know, the DoD is made up almost entirely of Americans...and generally the same kind of Americans that love their guns.  Pvt Sixpack isn't going to shoot his dad because some stupid lefties passed a law.

Yes, you've repeatedly stated that you think things you don't like or don't understand a use for should be banned.  This isn't news.  I think there should be reasons to ban things, really really good reasons.

Bayonet lugs.  Banned in AWB 1:the dumbening.  Why?  Nobody knows.  A bayonet has never been used in a crime the US (I'm not really saying never here, I'm sure one has been used at some point, but obviously not a huge component of crime).  .50cal rifles, banned in California.  Why?  They have never been used in a crime in the state.  It's all so stupid, it makes me want to dismiss the entire side on those grounds alone.
