924? That's just a VW
(I kid, I like them) A 924 would not be a good first car, especially for a boy. That's why God made Civics and Corollas. Low power and FWD. One should ease into the joys of RWD, and only when ready. Most people are never ready.
I did two St.Louis winters in an 82 RX7, a little lighter, a little less power, but the same problems. I thought it was fun. I did drive another 82 here in Omaha for a winter or two, but I had a Subaru Justy as a second car and it was my winter beater (except when it was broken). Obviously it's good to have a proper snow car for the snow, because while it might be fun, it's also dangerous and sometimes just impossible in fun cars like 924s and RX7s.
