I love hearing Booker's 2020 male vote evaporate before our ears.

Stay on topic RF. I don't want any flame wars to start around you. In fact one started leading to deletions.

Why not delete his post as well, then? It's disgusting.

Because I wanted to use it as a warning, and an example of what to me is off topic. This may be the most tightly moderated thread in the history of Atlas, done in real time. That was the judgement as to the way to proceed that I made after having to deal with the prior thread last night. And despite that, in my opinion, everybody has been able to get their points out, that are on topic.

I didnt think addressing my opinions on Sen. Booker's realtime statements during the hearing were off-topic. I apologize.

Ford is the final nail in the midterm coffin of the Republicans and Trump.

Unsure, it can just as easily fire up the GOP base.

Fox News is "bemoaning" that the Pubs were not very effective so far. What my take is, and that Fox News seems not to fathom, is that this exercise is more about the Pub Senators saving themselves, and less about saving K. I applaud their using Mitchell personally.

I agree, I think Amy Coney Barrett should be nominated. A young, bright intellectual woman. That should be adequate.

This is really bad for females. Now many men across America will treat them with kid gloves, be less inclined to participate in one-on-one work projects alone, less inclined to pursue friendly and romantic relationships with them.

There is a potential backlash to all of this that will infantize women. Perhaps they want that, I don't know why they would.
Or.

Maybe.

They could find a happy middle ground where they treat women like people and not sexually assault them.

I hope that's not difficult for most.

What about those who are falsely accused? Teen Vogue writer Emily Lindin said innocent men should also "pay a price". Innocent men. That's disturbing, is it not?

Ill beliebe it when I see it.

Not that I think the GOP is helping itself much, but this seems hyperbolic

I had to google what that word meant.

Woah woah this is NOT Kavanaugh's opening statement that was circulated last night. Completely different.

In light of the 80s movie references, I re-emphasize that I did not write Kavanaugh's opening statement.

It's amazing how this afternoon started with Kavanaugh looking dead in the water, and now it's completely turned around. Like 180. Amazing. Witnessing history.

Surely there are some good creative videos people have put together highlighting Kavanaugh's unhinged moment from the Hearing... Has anyone discover any good ones yet?

They don't make mock videos when people do a good job during congressional testimony.

This is true, but he's asking about Kavanaugh

Kavanaugh knocked it out of the park. You guys know it, which is why his confirmation chances increased drastically following his testimony. Don't try and pretend otherwise. Even I thought he was finished before that testimony.

I cannot believe the way liberals take something, and spin it to the most extreme level possible.

A woman makes an uncorroborated claim against a guy when he was a minor 36 years ago, and that becomes "A rapist is being put on the Supreme Court".

You wanna talk about "hyperbole". Good grief.

Okay, I will fix it for you.

"A likely serial rapist is being put on the Supreme Court"

Absolutely not true. That statement is slanderous towards him. It's a he said she said at this point, and without evidence, you cannot make such claims.

Jeff Flake is clearly still a yes and is doing this entirely so the Democrats can't complain about lack of an investigation. There is no change in the math.

If the FBI comes back in a week and says "There's nothing there at all", do you think the left will apologize to Brett Kavanaugh and quit calling him a rapist? Absolutely not.
