i know it is a small thing but could you add PE to elementry school and high school? oh and could you add philosophy to high school as well?

Nothing is preventing high schools from offering philosophy as is.

The PE requirement does, however, make sense.

I disagree, I believe it should be required from K-12.

I believe it would be better like this:

make it 12 and under.

Why? 10-12 grade should be used for taking classes you need to take to get into college, it would just take a place of a class students really need to take.

Just for general health reasons. Physical activity should be encouraged.

PE doesn't necessarily have to count towards the GPA....if that's what you're worried about, Dan.

He's right, PS, it was an amendment for all grade levels and it clearly says "mandatory for all students" Smiley

AYE, a student should be taught through 12th grade to live in a healthy way....which includes physical activity.

If that is our objective here, why don't we ban soft drink vending machines at schools?  Require better nutritional standards in school lunch programs?

Why do we make any subjects mandatory then, if we don't want to teach our students certain things?

This is exactly my point.  High school students deserve more leeway than this.

OK, fair enough, but I see physical education as every bit as important as other academic subjects that I personally would make mandatory.
