2008 Arizona Republican Presidential Primary

Fred Thompson: 4,131    39.79%
Mitt Romney: 1,326    12.77%
Ron Paul: 430    4.14%

Santa Cruz County

Fred Thompson: 515    34.43%
Mitt Romney: 125    8.36%
Ron Paul: 62    4.14%

Pima County
John McCain: 27,859     46.31%
Fred Thompson: 23,429    38.95%
Mitt Romney: 5,717    9.50%
Ron Paul: 2,352    3.91%

Yuma County
John McCain: 2,710     42.53%
Fred Thompson: 2,120    33.27%
Mitt Romney: 799    12.54%
Mike Huckabee: 269    4.22%
Rudolph W. Giuliani: 223    3.50%

Thompson also pulled in 27% in La Paz County and 11% in Pinal County.

But he didn't get anymore than 1 or 2% anywhere else in the state. And keep in mind he dropped out of the race some two weeks before the primary occurred.

Anyone care to explain this?
