That person was the only Republican for any county office.
The previous Republican candidate has run four times in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018. The 2012 race was a recount, and he slowly lost by more votes. He decided not to run a 5th time.
That's my point. If any of the local conservative cops felt any sort of duty to make sure the local GOP (and possibly sheriff's office) wasn't being hijacked, one of them would have stepped up and filed for office. But none did. That's why I'm shaming them.
