DeSantis is refusing to protect his constituents from VERY real danger and a near-guarantee of thousands of deaths. Imagine KNOWINGLY allowing a near-9/11 level deadly event take place as Governor with tons of forsight.

That woman at Target on the last page was EXTREMELY unhinged. Wow. I know many mentally ill people personally, and she's not what I'd call a "mild case".

Like I said much earlier in the thread, this virus is a completely different beast when the governors stop hotboxing 90-year-olds with it.

In a nursing home resident, death from the virus is a near-inevitability. In a healthy young person, it's a rare complication.

This is somewhat true generally, but a dangerous and gross oversimplification.

But what worries me is that we're going to settle into a groove of 800 deaths a day or so and just go "Eh, that's fine".

Tired of these losers on TV crying that their wife/brother died of COVID and NOW they understand that people need to take it seriously. Your whole family pretended there wasn't a pandemic and you probably each spread it to several other community members, hopefully not more than a handful each. You FAILED your country and you FAILED to act like a patriot in the war against the pandemic. I'm sorry for your loss but actions have consequences.
