Realistically, all that is going to happen here is funding is going to be pulled from things other than the Chancellor's salary. This includes stuff like research, student activities, etc. Also this tax does nothing to actually help with student debt or tuition, I will note. Quite frankly, the bill's title speaks for itself, it's a transparent attempt to attack higher education, which again, we should not be surprised by given the extreme anti-intellectualism of the Atlasian right.

Yet again, this money is just going to come from research funding, etc. (For the record, I'd oppose the version that kept the SALT deduction for this reason too)

I have submitted a formal request for cost estimate by the GM team and provided some sources and proposed methodology to hopefully expedite the score.

Okay hang on, you were infamous for using terrible sources to cost when you were GM, but I expect nothing else from such an incompetent and useless PPT, you should just quit the game for your good and ours.

Not sure if we have a 14th amendment style amendment but if so this clearly violates equal protection under the law. The PPT should toss this amendment as frivolous.

PPT should toss the bill as frivolous, but that has yet to happen. We will just defund all the colleges instead so that we have a nation of dumb and dumber.

The amendment is also deeply elitist. I thought liberals supported helping the downtrodden?

Stop dodging the point, point is the bill is silly and this amendment is basically the inverse of the bill to do it justice and reveal that fact.

What did West Virginians ever do to you?

That clause is meant to be as serious as removing the ability for high tax states to fund social services, because otherwise social services are the first thing that get cut and your state becomes Kansas. Republican politicians know this and they also know that as more people get educated, more will see through their grifterism and lies and propaganda, thus they want to destroy education any way possible. Removing SALT is just one step of that process.

Point still stands, most in the Federalist Party identify as Republicans IRL and most of the party supported Trump, which is why "Smash the Trumpists" was so effective. Anyways this is literally an "own the libs" bill, so I proposed an "own the cons" amendment to show how serious this charade really is.

Many Feds opposed Trump, also, but that's beside the point. Also, we and our allies have a majority ASFAIK and Cao was reelected so "'Smash the Trumpists,'" most voters realized, was simply a diversion.
[/quote]

It isn't though, the party has triangulated with the far right, and your chair even admitted this. Our current PPT is literally someone who recommended a post saying he'd be at 1/6. Your party shares the GOP's hard right agenda on abortion, transgender rights, etc. and in some cases, you've gone even further and brought back the Bush-era Bible Belt style hatred of religious freedom. Also your party's unofficial vice chair basically introduced a bill that is linked to the Trump wing of the GOP's insidious plot to overturn a free and fair election. So please spare me the deflection.
