Personally, I'd probably have supported Clinton had I voted in the Democratic primary, though I think Sanders would've had a better shot of winning in the general due to the anti-establishment electorate that year. Webb and Chafee just didn't seem like serious candidates to me, and O'Malley was just kinda small compared to the other two and seemed to lack gravitas. While I do respect Sanders and appreciate some of the issues he was able to challenge the mainstream consensus on, he was simply just too far to the left for my tastes, and I have real doubts about his ability to work with Congress to even get legislation passed as well as his tendency to surround himself with combative leftwing firebrands (Brianna Joy Gray, David Sirota, Nina Turner) who seem more interested in purity politics than crafting actual policy. Clinton, despite my reservations about her on several policies and her judgement, was a qualified "stable hand" at the very least who wasn't hostile to business and didn't use the same lack of nuance when it comes to policy that the wave of populism was demanding.

Wow, is this ancient history already?  Makes me feel old.  I was already a full-on grown adult in 2016.

Yeah, same. It definitely weirds me out how fast time moves.
