The real impact of this will be in the media coverage. Romney has lost three days. Lost them almost completely. I watched CNN at lunch for over an hour and Romney's name was not mentioned once, the Tuesday before the election. Christie will tour the damaged areas with Obama tomorrow, guaranteeing Obama an extra-day of positive media. He has been coy on whether he will even welcome Romney to the state to do the same the following day.
Christie's behavior makes it much easier for Obama to continue the Sandy storyline into Thursday at which point it will be supplanted by the jobs report on Friday. Any campaign stops Romney makes, or any attacks he launches while Obama is doing "storm response" will be looked upon as improper, as even Republican governor Chris Christie thinks so.
Assuming a good jobs report, this event basically let Obama neutralize Romney's entire campaign fundraising advantage for the last week of the election, and the power outages pretty much killed any thought of Romney going into PA.
