I really think she would be.  I agree completely with her that Asians should adopt American first names, it really makes it easier on them if nothing else.  There is nothing to stop them from keeping their birth name, but having an American one too is great.  No one can object to Asian last names, they rarely contain even multiple syllables.

Yes, they should adopt good old-fashioned American names like Jayden, Nevaeh, Caden, Haley, and Destiny.

I think her son's name is track and he's off in Iraq [rhymes]

Her daughter is Bristol and Dad's got his pistol.

Good point.  My grandfathers names were Dorondo and Giuseppe, but went by "John" and "Joe" (Giuseppe = Joseph in English), respectively.  And you're right that it's up to the person whether or not to do it, not Betty Brown.

My grandfather and his brothers had their Yiddish names replaced by the inspector at Ellis Island. I only recently learned that Lou was Leibl and Julius was Zusha.

But that particular name isn't a riff of anything in particular, right? Just checking I didn't miss something...
