If Hillary Clinton had won the nomination, someone would have written a very similar piece about the Democrats "shooting themselves in the foot" and missing the opportunity to nominate a dynamic leader who inspires young people and breaks for the tired past of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton.
We know this in part because it's what Republicans were saying back when it looked like Clinton was going to defeat Obama.
