Only on atlas people would call this monster an FF.

Only people on Atlas would cheer his death.

Condolences to his family and friends.

That said, it's not his fault or anyone else's that SC Justice is the rare position that is a lifetime appointment. Like it or not, his death has dramatic policy implications, and everyone knows that's how it goes.

Yup, the Senate majority certainly has the power to provoke a constitutional crisis if they decline to approve any of the President's nominees. It hasn't happened before, but there's nothing other than self-interest to prevent them from breaking the Court.

And people wonder why Democrats are favored to retain the White House. This kind of childish behavior on the part of Congressional Republicans is exactly why most people hate politics.
Again, we've been doing this for years. Why did we win the last midterms?

Because in the Obama era, the Republican coalition = the electorate that shows up in mid-term elections, while the Democratic coalition = the larger group that shows up in presidential elections.

Can you envision a constitutional crisis where four seats are vacant, but Congress and the President compromise to rewrite a law on the same topic?

Very disappointed in some of the posts I'm reading here. A person dying is not cause for celebration.

I'm really almost in disbelief with some of you people.

Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment. Don't blame people that his death coincides with a major change in government policy, that's how it works.
