Of course there is. But almost every single time I see petty gossip or insults being lobbied at a non-present third party, it's usually someone on the left attacking someone...else. And a lot of threads follow the general outline of: Poster A repeats generic right-wing talking points, leftist posters descend to shower petty insults and what not. Neither are particularly helpful, but one of them is particularly odious and poisonous.

On the record, I don't think there's a strong causal relationship between leftism and pettiness, even if it might seem on this board. There's probably just a lot of snotty, immature, little sh**ts who just happen to also be left-wing on the side. Of course, there are plenty of young people, whom I disagree with on almost anything, who are perfectly nice, likeable people. BRTD probably being the best example. But gosh, there are so many others...

You know, I was all set to say you were wrong, because we've had right-wing posters go into the polling and demographics boards and start trolling and stirring stuff up this year. But the issue is that there's a lot of trolling in general because emotions are high and since this board has more Democrats, and because (recent spike notwithstanding), it's still looking like a better year for Dems, it's harder for your side. Trolling isn't moderatable (a look at the polling boards proves that) and I don't think that's going to change, so all I can say is to make use of the ignore button and wait it out until the election after which everyone's going to be calmer.
