Balanced Budget:
Far-Left - A deficit and debt is fine.  Focus on social programs and how the government can better people's lives.
Left - Increase government spending on social programs, a deficit is acceptable.
Center-Left - Focus on real priorities. More funds for military and social programs.
Center - Balance lowering the deficit with other priorities. No long-term deficits.
Center-Right - We need to curb spending in order to balance the budget. Respect taxpayers' dollars.
Right - A large decrease in federal spending. A Balanced Budget Amendment to ensure responsible fiscal management.
Far-Right - We need to eliminate all debt as quickly as possible. Outlaw deficit spending with a Balanced Budget Amendment.
Business Tax:
Far-Left - Significantly increase business taxation.
Left - Moderate increase in business taxes. Close loopholes.
Center-Left - Small increase in business taxation. Close loopholes.
Center - Businesses are taxed the right amount.
Center-Right - Reduce taxes for small businesses.
Right - Moderate decrease in business taxation.
Far-Right - Significantly decrease business taxation.
Campaign Finance Reform:
Far-Left - Elections are rigged for the two parties - we need major reform! We need a publically funded campaign!
Left - Ban corporate donations and soft money. Small donors only!

Education:
Far-Left - Completely public school system run by the state. Massive increase to funding.
Left - No school vouchers, large increase to federal funding. Modernize school system with more after-school programs.
Center-Left - Support our public school system. Private school vouchers drain resources from public schools. Increase funding.
Center - Support public school system but allow room for vouchers.
Center-Right - School vouchers for lower-income students. Privatize failing schools. Charter schools provide competition.
Right - Support school vouchers and charter schools. Reduce federal government's role in education.
Far-Right - School vouchers for anyone. Get the federal government out of education completely!
Environment:
Far-Left - The environment should be our first national priority. Expand National Park System. Large government programs.
Left - The environment and gobal warming is a major concern. Ratify Kyoto. Increase environmental regulations and pollution cleanup.
Center-Left - We need to leave a healthy environment for our children. Work to reduce emissions and harmful toxins. Modified Kyoto.
Center - Balance environmental policies with sound economic policies. Strengthen Clean Air, Waters Act, reduce greenhouse gases.
Center-Right - The environment is important. Find market based solutions to environmental problems. Protect property rights.
Right - Economic policies and priorities take precedence over environmental concerns. Rely more on economy and communities.
Far-Right - The environment is fine.  We don't need to worry about it.
Free Trade:
Far-Left - Return to our protectionist past. Reduce dependence on trade. Protect our national sovereignty.
Left - We need to erect large tariff barriers to protect all our industries and our labor market. Pull out of free trade agreements.
Center-Left - Some industries need to be protected. Focus on Fair Trade. Review current free trade agreements.
Center - Open markets should be approached with caution.
Center-Right - Most markets should be open. Keep current free trade agreements and some expansion in the future.
Right - All markets should be open! Expand free trade to cover most of the Western Hemisphere.
Far-Right - We should strive to achieve global free trade with no restrictions.
Gun Control:
Far-Left - Ban most guns! Tough restrictions on ownership.
Left - We need gun control! Ban certain guns. Require registration/background checks. Gun control protects children.
Center-Left - The right to bear arms, but only responsibly! Ban assault rifles, require registration/background checks.
Center - Gun control is a state issue. Responsible gun ownership is fine.
Center-Right - We should be wary of gun control. The Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms.
Right - Gun ownership is constitutionally protected. Protect sportsmen's rights and the Second Amendment.
Far-Right - The Second Amendment is not negotiable! No restrictions on firearms!
Health Care:
Far-Left - We need a completely public health care system! Publically funded, universal health care insurance. Health care is a right!
Left - Completely public health care system and include perscription drugs under medicare. Require health insurance for every child.
Center-Left - Universal health care whether public or private. Require health insurance for every child.
Center - Public health care benefits for the poor and elderly, the rest private.
Center-Right - More tax-deductable health costs. Very limited public health services. Give health coverage to uninsured children.
Right - Very limited role for government in health care. Tax credits for personal Health Savings Accounts.
Far-Right - The health care system should be completely private, it is not a responsibility of the federal government.
Immigration:
Far-Left - Completely open borders. Try to obtain global citizenship.
Left - Immigration is great! The more immigrants the better. Just require a criminal record check. Full blanket-amnesty.
Center-Left - Legal immigration is great. Support guest-worker program for illegals and amnesty.
Center - Enforce current laws and tighter border security but allow room for a guest-worker program.
Center-Right - Illegal immigration is a serious problem. Tighter border security. Reform immigration laws.
Right - Tighten border security with stricter immigration enforcement provisions. Deport illegal immigrants.
Far-Right - Stop all immigration completely.  Deport illegal aliens and build massive security fence on Mexican and Canadian borders.
