This is a fascinating district. I'm surprised Murtha was able to hold onto it for so long, especially after his racist/redneck comments about his own constituents. And wasn't this the only congressional district in the nation that voted for Kerry in 2004 and then voted for McCain in 2008? If the Republicans win it, I think we may see the end of that faithful Democratic voting bloc of working class blue-collar whites particularly in that area of the country (the Rust Belt/Appalachia whatever you wanna call it).
