Completely unrelated to the similar discussion taking place here, I've found the constant loop of a video blowing people up to be repulsive and in severely poor taste. It's something I really care a lot about and have been appalled by today. It's sensationalist, disrespectful, shallow, ignorant, and cheap. I truly hate it and am disgusted by it. Our national media is nothing short of a disgrace.
It was for that reason that I didn't spend much time watching MSNBC earlier. Once I got the gist of the situation and the ensuing info that came in 45 minutes after it happened, there wasn't anything new but people playing the same clip on loop the entire time. I was getting information faster here due to Jake's liveblogging, anyway.
