I managed to find myself bored of having no television to watch regularly until the fall and decided to check it out. I thought it was fine, though I like the politics stuff more than the family drama stuff, and as per my high standards for gays in and out of media, I basically hated the aforementioned gay son of Not Hillary Clinton. Despite it basically being weird Hillary fan-fiction, I thought it was worth watching, and I suppose I'll keep watching if only due to the fact that I have very little else on TV right now worth paying attention to.

Personally I've grown more and more disappointed with the show if not outright disgusted. Some of the politics parts are delicious fan-fictiony fun to watch, but for most of the rest of the show, the most complimentary I can be is "lazy" (not a shocker, considering it's the USA network) and at worst, outright desperate. The gay character exists literally only as a source of conflict and to have lots of cursing (and follows through on my "all gay TV characters must have bizarre or windswept hair" theory), and sex seems to pop up in the most random and unearned of places, from my perspective, only to try and check off certain boxes of "demographics we need to draw in."

Perhaps I'm just some sort of TV wizard at this point, but I've seen nearly everything coming before they've revealed it as if I wasn't supposed to know, leaving me with constant "You thought that was a surprise? You thought you were going to shock me? Seriously?" moments. The Aaron Schock closet case is a perfect example; aggressively obvious that he was gay from the first word that came out of his mouth. (Though, this may be due to the actor that plays him, he's been in all sorts of other stuff as a gay character. Maybe most mainstream viewers wouldn't notice that.)

Eh, all in all, I'm disappointed with it and think it's really mediocre entertainment, but that comes with being on USA. I'm sticking with it because I'm already invested at this point, and because I love Sigourney Weaver. Were it not for her being the lead, I probably would've ditched.

Never.  It's probably very biased toward the left.

It's only biased toward undemanding viewers who are totally okay with mediocre television. It won't indoctrinate you, I promise.
