The PS/MB ticket is a ticket based on the utmost of activity and change. Of game reform and progressive domestic policy. It's time to change the game and try something interesting for a change, and that's why I decided to run as a JCP member with Purple State.

I hope my party stands strongly behind me and votes to endorse the ticket. I have always held that the left-wing of Atlasia must remain strongly unified to continue our strength. Don't let petty differences or political affiliation get in the way of what is right.

Let's give it all we've got, guys.

Purple State and I have had our fights as well. I remember trying to throw him out of the ConCon. Tongue

But I do know he's a hard worker at his core, and if he starts to stray, well, I'll kick him a little. Wink

I'm not going to agree to Bgwah challenges, but I do support the others' and their position on mandatory endorsements. The need to support our party members is very very very important, and I encourage a GOTV effort for them all, regardless of who they are, but there are also other very good candidates, like Franzl, that people should definitely be able to endorse first if they desire.

I've never understood why you guys hate on gporter so much. Whatever.

Personally I don't understand the dislike of Gporter either. I mean, he's been here for ages. And he's hardly been a master community organizer or anything, but he's not some random newbie plucked out of nowhere or something, he is a longstanding member.

That said, I totally understand the frustration of being forced to endorse JCP candidates by default. But this isn't the time for needless divisions, this is the time for unified strength in this party. We can definitely sort out our bylaws after the convention & election.

The problem with a primary system is that it's pretty much impossible to get the results of a primary to stick unless people decide themselves to drop out if they lose.

ENDORSEMENTS:
-Automatic endorsement
-Automatic endorsement, with process in place for unendorsement in certain cases (signatures, what?)
-A form of approval voting?
-Badger mentions a majority, though I use IRV at the moment so I'm not sure what difference that would make. Maybe a super-majority (2/3) should be required to endorse a non-JCP candidate (or NOTA) over a JCP candidate?

I support automatic endorsement, but there should be a process for unendorsement that's voted on separately. For instance, if Fritz wanted to refuse to endorse anyone in the Mideast or Southeast, he could introduce a motion to suspend rules for automatic endorsement  for those two races for Senate, with a majority vote or 10 signatures or something. That seems to be the only uncomplicated solution I guess.

I support the creation of "Party Whip" similar to another party or two have. It's purpose is simply to defend the party from criticism and to act as, if nothing else, the party's attack dog. If such a position were created, I'd run for it.

Otherwise I'm supportive of elections for chair, but I doubt I will ever vote against Bgwah unless he commits murder or something.

I have no problem with either of these things, as long as they're no quorum.

Anyone should be able to propose changes to the rules, whenever they want during a convention, if they're members of the party, I think.

Perhaps conventions should be opened roughly three weeks before an election. We obviously don't have to vote for quite some time, but it gives us enough room to evaluate the candidates, pick candidates if no one's running yet, and enough time to hammer out what races we're auto-endorsing in and what we're not.

As for a quorum, that is a recipe for disaster, so let's not.

Why I want to be whip should be fairly clear. The JCP is the only solidly left-wing party of the four major parties, one of which is collapsing as we speak. Of the DA, RPP, Populares, and ourselves, we represent the only left-wing force among them. I want to keep it that way.

I've been in the party for a reasonable length of time, I brought the SDP into the JCP, I've campaigned for JCP party members and ran the GOTV effort competently during the Presidential election on my own, something traditionally held by Bgwah himself, have reasonable enough stature to represent the JCP well enough, I've been a vocal advocate on behalf of the party and our members, and my personality suits the idea of a "whip" position quite nicely.

We are the left-wing party. To be frank, I'd like to keep it that way. Of the three Senators we elected at-large in the previous national Senate elections, two are relatively centrist economically. Bgwah himself, though I love him to death of course, is pretty much along the same line of economic thought. That accounts for a majority of our Senate delegation being represented by people slightly more right-wing than the party consists of. These are good people, and I'd vote in favor of them all again if I had the opportunity right now, but the JCP needs left-wingers, or else, what is the point?

Everyone here knows me, and I like to think everyone also knows I can and will do the job, as I have done when I've held other positions of responsibility throughout my time in Atlasia.

Which one is collapsing?

The DA, of course.
