I like how the bottom chart still shows Republicans as more extreme than Democrats on average (Ds around -0.4, Rs around +0.5), but because of the big shift on the Democratic side from 2016-2018, he's using it to portray Democrats in Congress as "extreme."

I also really aprecciate that the only units any of these charts use is years. Really makes u think.

Pretty much. Basically its that the nationalists are running with their tail between their legs about the monster they had created. By "monster", I mean people who are not willing to agree with 50% of what they say.

The ones who euphorically squeal for command economies, who fetishize the murder of infants, elevate sodomy and other sexual deviancies to a place of honor, beg for our country to be invaded and conquered by third-world immigrants, and have a bitter hatred for liberty and fundamental natural rights.
The ones who to seek to categorically undermine and dismantle every last important societal building block we have had: the church, the community, the family, the marriage, all the way down to gender.
Democrats.
So like, they are so far to the left that they are to the right? Isn't Donald Trump basically so far to the right that he's to the left? Wasn't that his appeal?

No. His appeal was he was anti-MSM, an "outsider", and wanted to bring back jobs to the rust belt.
That was Bernie.

From the Pew study this is taken from, the Democrats have "moved to the extreme" because":

Democrats no longer support the idea that "poor people have it easy because they can get government benefits without doing anything", and no longer believe  that "most people who want to get ahead can do so if they work hard" or that "environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy", or that immigrants "take our jobs, housing and health care" or that "homosexuality should be discouraged by society".

Democrats do, think that "racism is the main reason blacks can't get ahead" and "corporations make too much profit" and  that "government should do more to help the needy" and "peace is ensured by good diplomacy" and they've have halved their already low support for the idea of "peace was through military strength".

In short, Democrats are now 'extreme' because they're not still stuck in 1980.

That's one thing you have to give Nader credit for : Democrats are no longer trying to win national elections by not being Democrats. Even in the gerrymander from Hell, Democrats have been able to produce a majority from inside of Democratic orthodoxy.

Exactly. The left is on a path to becoming a far left party by taking people like AOC seriously. The republicans have been getting not only more socially liberal, but economically liberal as well.

You elected someone President who retweets people who think we fought on the wrong side in WW2.
