I haven't followed this race at all but my prediction is that the liberal wins by more than people on Atlas think she will. This strikes me as an abortion-focused race and those have not gone the Republicans' way since the ayatollahs took down Roe v. Wade.

It seems that the narrative going into 2024 can be affirmed or lost because of this race.

What do the polls and early votes say so far?

Will be very interesting if Prostaciewicz ends up winning decisively and you still have pundits who refuse to admit that abortion is a massive driving issue for voters. Would be ironic too given that Morning Consult just put out that poll about its power of "salience" dropping.

Regardless of who wins, the pundits will be at the nearest Denny's interviewing fat whites about how they're left behind or forgotten.

There is a cure to being fat now, but it’s the price of a nice car payment, if not the rent for a tiny apartment. So it’s becoming more of itself.

44% is already a point higher than 2019.

is this good or bad for Protasiewicz?

Solid

And that means “OK” or “what I had reasonably hoped”?

Not sure about this.  P is even with or ahead of Evers almost everywhere with significant votes in right now.  Unless it's an early vote skew or something, she would be favored.

Watch out for Kelley mules!

OSR worships a dude who obsesses over "wokeness", implements theocratic abortion laws, and bans books...and yet he's complaining about Trumpism hurting the brand. Cry me a river.

That’s uhhh a bummer, man.

So it looks like the final margin will be about 10%?
11 apparently

The question is now how and when what has happened here will become apparent.

This will mean, especially if Ohio gets to do an abortion referendum, that every northern state will have legal abortions and every southern state will not. Indiana and Virginia being the lone exceptions.

So does it look like Janet will be impeached? Honestly, if I were the WI GOP, I'd go for it - it's not like they have anything to lose.

And you'd piss off a lot of people causing them to vote against you.

Almost all GOP voters, if not all of them, would see this as a positive, not a negative.
a majority of the state is against impeachment. There is no way they'd win the states electoral votes and at the very least lose their supermajority in the Senate.

This would take Wisconsin from the more conservative tossup to the most liberal. Might even switch with Michigan.
