Basic rule of thumb- I don't want anything privatized that will imperil my life or livelyhood if there is a strike. (workers can't strike in the public sector AND if private sector workers can't strike, they usually end up revolting).

politcaladdict reminds me of a friend I have at school, a republican hack who doesn't know much about policy who makes fun of my friend/rival, a french liberal socialist who knows some things about policy (but not as much as me). He always centers on arguements when he's arguing with him, and I have to be the mediator. The french kid brings up foriegn policy and then my republican hack friend says stuff like "Want to hear a joke, everyone?" To which the other people (now forming a crowd, of course) say "Yes!" and he responds "The French Military!"and then the french kid says America sucks and all the people in the crowd start shouting "USA!" "USA!" and start making fun of France by saying "Baguette" and "Haha, You guys have been conquered numerous times and lost many wars!"

God it's like a festival of idiots. And this is your friendly neighborhood liberal California school.

Sounds like asshatery to me.

I don't want roads to be owned by private companies. Nor police forces. Nor the Army.

Actually something I agree with, it should be the STATE governments responsibility to repair roads and other things, and the CITY/COUNTY Responsibility to have the police-force,and the FEDERAL governments responsibility to have an Army for defense, which is suppose to be the sole role government, that and coin money on exactly WHAT the CONSTITUTION allows, not government running anything like a business.

The Legislature has the power to provide for the general welfare though...
