One area of attack I have not seen is McCain targeting 'ticket splitters' and warn against the Dems controlling all parts of government. Although this seems like a good attack, it has the issue of seemingly conceding that the GOP will lose in their bids to regain the House and the Senate.  And since he is so dependent on the RNC right now for cash, is that something they would let him do.
