Some interesting points related to the convention...

So even with the endorsement and a prime-time speech, could there still be a floor fight/minority report over TPP?

Something noteworthy about Sanders endorsement and how it relates to the convention...

Proposal to eliminate supers was defeated in rules committee but could end up on the floor via minority report

For purposes of the 2016 election this beef between the campaigns appears to have been solved so likely no drama at the DNC over it

I had always thought they would find their Zell Miller in reverse. I had predicted it would be former NJ Gov (and NeverTrumper) Christine Todd Whitman, and I'm sure they tried to get her. I guess she isn't ready to cross over to the other side.

They really should've lined up Jon Stewart to speak at the convention. He would be great at making trump look like an idiot. If he's not on the daily show anymore, what's stopping him?

While this isn't going to happen, I think you will see more humor in the speches at the DNC. Instead of anger and going for chants of 'lock her up', they will probably use more mockery and get people to laugh at Trump. The Keeping in 1600 podcast guys (former speech writers) noted how grim the RNC was and noted they really needed more joke writers. I suspect the Clinton campaign has made joke writers available to various speakers, probably including a number who have worked on the Daily Show and SNL.

On MSNBC Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said Schultz will speak at the DNC saying "she desires the opportunity to address the delegates this week as some of her final days as DNC chairwoman, and I know that there are going to be some people that disagree with that decision, but think of the gesture she is making in a nod to party unity today. It is a huge step for her to announce that she is stepping down."  Steve Kornacki seemed dumfounded and asked "does she know what she is walking into?" Fallon said he hoped that "people are mindful" of her leaving at the end of the week... good luck with that.

Monday should have votes on the platform and rules, tuesday would be the roll call. In both cases there could always be some kind of shenanigans. On Monday you could look for minority reports submitted or calls for votes to make changes to the platform or rules (there was a brief attempt at this last week the the RNC which failed). Maybe there could be an attempt to add another name besides Kaine into nomination for VP instead of voting by acclimation. And of course there is always the chance of some Bernie delegates staging walkouts or random protests on the floor.

Or none of that will happen and it will run as planned.
