I think that this whole thing could have ended with an apology, but obviously they went a different way.

Trump has moved on to: "She touched me first.  Secret Service told her 2 times not to touch me."

Why this angle is coming out now is pretty clear to me.  They're scrambling to come up with excuses.

again all of this could have been said along with an apology weeks ago. I genuinely don't understand the knee-jerk thing on Team Trump to never ever apologize for anything. It could have been forgotten, now it is a big deal. And this coming after the whole Heidi Cruz ugly tweet thing, does Trump really need to be defending a guy accused of attacking a woman (on his behalf).  There aren't enough white men to make up for all the women and non-whites that Trump is pushing away.
