I don't get the sudden dismissal of Kasich. He is a longshot and had a bad debate but he is better off than most of the so-called establishment candidates.

Bush and Kasich are tied in NH and Bush is trending down. Kasich has more money than Christie and is also outpolling him in NH and reportedly has a better ground operation. Fiorina is certainly trending down and could easily lose a spot in the next debate.

Clearly Rubio has the hot hand right now for the establishment wing but Kasich is trying to  make a play for establishment types who want an older more experienced governor. There have been reports for a while about Bush's supporters getting cold feet.

I'm not saying by any means that Kasich is in the top tier, but he is not irrelevant like Graham and Pataki. And in the last week or so he has people talking about him so this new anti-Trump posture has changed the negative narrative coming out of the FOXB debate.
